Looks like we are going to have a relatively dry week. Will this be enough for Perimeter and Long Track to be rideable on the weekend?

In my experience, Centre track dries the quickest, followed by Duck Holes trail. As for P/LT. The first section of the Perimeter trail from Nerang ave may take a couple of weeks. A lot of this section is clay based and holds water longer - there may even be extra seepage along here.
The rest of the Perim and Long trail does dry out fairly quick (less than a week) along most sections, but there will be a good 5 - 10 boggy sections that take an extra week to firm up.
If it was me - and i'll probably do this myself - start from the Japanese school entrance. If you are riding during the day - you will be able to pick a good line either through or around the boggy sections. If its night time.... well, it will be a big mixed bag of surprises... (boggy sections just "popping" up)
The small weir/creek/overflow/runoff about 500m in from the Japanese school was closed a few days ago as it was a real torent! But it should be fine now.

I would definitely not be riding the first section from the Nerang rd entrance for at least a couple of weeks, the water runs off all the properties here for a number of days after rain and the sand / clay on the trail just holds that water too well.

As a result it is always the last of the local tracks to be ridable.

To give an idea of how much damage has been done to the track recently the RFS have closed all vehicle access to the trail until further notice due to one of the concrete sections by the golf course having become so washed away there is apparently a cavity under the trail so large you could fit a small car into it.

Thanks for the info guys, makes sense. Yeh, I agree with the state of beginning of Perimiter, even when the rest of the track is dry, always seems to have some bogs here.
