Hi guys! I'm new in this forum and I could say in Australia as well. I came in to Sydney from Spain in January 2012 and I'd be glad to join you. I don't know anyone riding MTB here. I live in Seaforth and I wonder where do I can catch you up.
I really love this country and MTB, so I think it could be the best way to discover these beautiful places over here!!
I hope there is any one keen to ride with a Spaniard!! Sticking out tongue

A Spaniard! Shocked

Hmmm... don't know about that. Could be an issue. Eye-wink

Just kidding. Welcome! What kind of riding do you prefer? Cross-country, all mountain, Downhill?

StanTheMan's picture

Seaforth isn't far from Manly Dam. But yea what is your preferred code of riding?

Kayros's picture

Hahaha, I'm almost a normal person!! I warranty!! Eye-wink
I do prefer mountain and downhill, but I don't mind any other kind of riding!! But I'm looking forward to do some Downhill, as I wanna test my bike, it's a Downhill one.

Thank you very much Hawkeye, I hope to meet you soon!! I want to ride for a while on Sunday and didn't make a decision yet about where to go. If you have some suggestions I'd appreciate!! Smiling

Yeah, I'm thinking of going to Manly Dam or Oxford Falls. I love any kind of riding, and going through new places with beautiful views is my passion!! I'm enjoying this amazing country, so any place would be marvelous!! Smiling
Thanks for replying, I didn't expect to have answers that quick!!
As much time I spend in Australia, more I like the peoples, the country and everything!!
Thanks heaps, and hope to see you soon as well Stan!!

Hahaha sorry hawkeye, I'm new in this forum thing, my reply has the "Spaniard" subject.

You will always recognize a Spaniard because we're always carrying a Olive Oil bottle and we love paella!! Eye-wink

Nice to met you here guys!!

There's a wide variety of trials on offer in the locality. Some bikes will not be suitable for some locations. For example, my Cannondale Rize was too much of a weight-forward, cross country style for Red Hill's technical drops - need something like the new Jekyll or a Giant Reign or bigger to be comfortable there. I walked a lot when Simon and Lozza took me around there a couple of weeks ago.

So maybe tell us what kind(s) of bike you have and we can suggest something suitable.

Hi Hawekeye!!

Thanks for replying!

I got a Cannondale Perp 2, I have been 8 months with no riding at all, as I couldn't bring my bike from spain Eye-wink , and I've just got this bike and I'm pretty happy with it. But couldn't test it yet! I'm pretty excited about riding over here, so I think although I have to walk, I would enjoy anyway!

I'm thinking of going to have a good ride on Sunday, which is the first spare day I have, maybe on Monday as well. Your' suggestions gonna be more than welcome mate!

Thanks for your help and hope to see you soon over there!

I'm thinking Red Hill and Oxford Falls would be the go.

Red Hill first. Oxford Falls has freeride structures you'd probably want to work up to after 8 months of no bike... not sure if there are B-lines for the gap jumps. Puzzled

Weather forecast for the weekend looks good. Post a ride meet saying you need a tour guide, and see who turns up Smiling

Kayros's picture

Thst sounds pretty good!!

So I'll go ahead to Red Hill on Sunday morning!! I have no car, so I'll have to ride from Seaforth to the area, but it's not a big issue I reckon... Smiling

The weather forecast is very good for Sunday, let's see if nothing changes! And if I can I'll try to go for Oxford Falls on Monday.

About posting a ride meet, not sure how to do it yet (I'm the bloody new foreigner in the forum Eye-wink ). But I gonna try to sort it out right now!

If you have body armour, Red Hill is a good place to wear it. Knee/shin and elbow/forearm will cover the most vulnerable spots without causing you to overheat.

Lady Penryn Drive is an eroded mess. Cromer Rd entrance is better.

Kayros's picture

Ummm i've just got the bike but not the whole equipment though... I do not have to much stuff yet. I'll try to get it as soon as possible. If you hear something about a 2nd hand one, let me know! Eye-wink

For now I'll put a ride meeting and let see if someone wanna join me!

Just take the fire trail to the left to avoid Rut city.......good strava segment there too.
