15 So... completed my first 100 mile fling ever without any mechanicals or any other bike related issues at all. just a reaaaaaallly long day in the saddle.
my only mistake was riding up 'the wall'. that went alright on the first lap but on the second lap the effort put me really in the box and it took me to the end of the wingello single track to recover.
8.36 it was in the end and by far the most climbing i've ever done on a single ride.
what an experience though. and big thanks to all the organizers and incredibly friendly helpers. great job.

The 100mile Fling is no walk in the park.. great time by the way!
Those nice folk manning the 100Mile transition lounge really made the day for me.
But the question really is; will you be back next year for another dose of such craziness?
... right back at you. Well done.
and regarding next year, right now the second half of the wingello lap (twice) with it's endless and deserted fire trail climbs and the headwind back to transition is still very much alive in my memory and keeping me from making any such foolish commitments.
However I'm sure this will fade and in the end all I will remember is the brilliant single tracks, the scenery, the friendly helpers and how unbelievably quick the first stage is over when you know you still have over a 100 to go. So yes will probably end up doing it again if I find the time to prepare for it.
