Disregard psi and work of sag. generally speaking you should be running 20-25% sag front and rear once you have that you can start fine tuning your psi, rebound and compression.

Chances are you will be pumping quite a lot of air into the suspension (100 psi +) so don't be scared.

Suspensions also very personal so its all up to you at the end of the day. Start with your 20-25% sag then go for a ride and use the little o ring indicator and see how much travel you've been using and you can adjust accordingly remembering to leave some travel in reserve for rouge drops or rocks etc..

I take it your riding primarily xc?

There is also a Fox app, downloadable on itunes.
Its accuracy is a little questionable, but it runs you through the process all the same.
I agree Jonathan, however this should give you a starting base.

I'm new to rear and air suspension.

Is it correct that I need to adjust the air pressure to set the sag correctly? I had better buy a shock pump!!
THanks.

Yes @pembo6 - you need a high pressure shock pump. Set up is pretty simple. Make sure if you have lockout levers etc you have them in the soft setting. Sit on the bike and you should have a rubber ring that slides up & down the shaft. Jump up & down a little to make sure the fork slides properly then sit in your riding position. Lean down and push the rubber o-ring down as far as it goes. Get off the bike carefully and as the fork expands you will see the o-ring is now sitting hopefully about 20-25% of the way up the fork. If it's higher then you add more air. Lower take some out. If you don't have the rubber ring then just use a zip tie.

As for all other settings, I always start by counting total clicks on any dial that moves and set them in the middle. After a couple of rides start to play with one setting at a time to see how it affects your ride.

Thanks for the advice fatboy. Sounds easy.

I have a rockshox monarch RT3 rear shock. So I guess that I leave the setting on the "full open" setting when setting the sag. And adjust the rebound in the middle. Same with the fork sag.

Am currently building up my bike so won't be ready for another couple of weeks. Just need the headset and front rotor. Then good to go.
