A dilemma?

I have a conundrum.

If I ever had the moolah, as a 6ft 7 bloke, where could I find a full suspension bike?

The answer might be here: http://www.zinncycles.com/gallery1.aspx

The time could be right - 1 Aussie $ to 96 US cents.

I could get 29 inch wheels.

They could build a Rohloff friendly frame for me.

I would be in heaven.

The question is - how do I sell this to 'er indoors?

just remind the minister of finance of your latest medical check up and that the doc was very concerned about your increased risk (due to excessive height)of obesity(yes i heard skinny people can catch it to!!) diabetes etc and that not only will you save money on fuel coz you will use said purchase on commuting but i just saw on 60 mins that lap band surgery is 10k ,good luck

Always this will be a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". You have to make it a win-win for all involved. Think of something for the other person and you should be right mate. Eye-wink

Go and buy a Giant Glory 8. That's the freeride one not the DH race bike. Buy it in the large size and if necessary ride everywhere standing up. You may remain seated whilst coasting if you wish. Keep legs and arms within the vehicle at all times. If riding to work or to the shops, remember to wear full body armour and a full face helmet. Even in summer.
There are two models in the range; the Zero and the One. I believe the One retails for about $AU3600 in any Giant dealership around.
Explain this to your wife or if you wish get a fellow nobmobber to talk her through it.

Diamonds are a rider's best friend?...

She doesn't need bribes, I'm just lucky I guess. Smiling

In fact, when I talk about N+1 she always says stuff like, "Sure you deserve it.", and "Is that all?". Laughing out loud

Morgan, a man of your stature totally needs a 29er. Tell her all your friends keep teasing you about the BMX bike you ride. Eye-wink

If or should I say when I get a geared bike again it will be one of these RIP 9 thingys big wheels and 4.5inches of travel front and back should be more than enough to handle anything I am likely to ride.

They come in an extra large for you Morgan 22inch C-C seat tube is that big enough?

From all this I have found out that:

I have a very, very expensive bmx (Rob you b'stard).
I need to watch Blood Diamond again.
I don't have a cheeky $5,000 tucked away that 'er indoors doesn't know about.
I don't think I'm interested in buying a bike that sounds like a cat's final death.

So, it looks like I'll have to do the right thing by my good lady wife. That is, order the bike when she's out, hide the credit card bill when it comes in, & if she sees the postman I'll tell her that it's a huge shipment of cosmetics I've ordered her for Christmas and now she's ruined the surprise. This still gives me 5 months to stock up from Priceline. Genius!

Now I just need to work out how to get her to help measure me up without arousing her suspicions. Hmmm.

Come on Morgan... as if you can't weave that into your... erm... routine! Eye-wink

Oops... sorry about the BMX comment. Speaking of which... http://tagwheels.com/ Eye-wink

Morgan it's clearly a safety issue that you have a bike that is designed to suit your height, so what's a few dollars if it means you'll be safer when out on the trails. The safety angle is hard to argue against.
Good Luck.
