Crank Bros Joplin Remote Seatpost - 3" drop
Excellent condition. Purchased wrong size. This is 30.0 and I needed 31.6 so have bought another. Retails at $300. Will take $130. Should have box also I believe.

If only it was a 31.6....

I'm after the big size too. Aarrrggghhh!
Does anyone else have one of these (how is yours Hans)? If so, how do they rate them?

CB Joplin adjustable seatpost review

Submitted by Hans on Sun, 28/09/2008 - 13:24.

Hi Andrew...

I can recommend the Joplin adjustable post. Had it four months now - saved my butt (shins, elbows, knees) a number of times. It is cool when you can adjust the seat height on the fly..e.g. when the trail suddenly turns into a downhilly or tech section you can effectively change your bikes centre of gravity to a significantly lower height - almost like in a downhill bike. Makes up for my lack of skill... Eye-wink

Particularly useful if you have the seat normally quite high, i.e. if you have long legs (as in my case).

You can also change the setting gradually to change it into a more comfy position while on long rides...it can be less taxing for knees and back as you use different muscles...

The only negatives that I can think off (apart from the price) is that it has a ~ 2 mm sideway play on the seatpost mechanism - but you don't notice it while riding. The other one is that you can get "lazy" when descending technical bits...instead of having to search for the ideal line you can just lower the seat and roll over most obstacles... Eye-wink

BTW - got mine from an a guy on US ebay that sells them new for less than 60% of local RRP.

BTW: The new '09 Spesh Enduro now comes stock with Specialized's own "Command Post"...(similar design, but 3 settings only)

You can install either with shims for bikes with other seatpost sizes.
