MTBA Fees
If your going to do the odd race can you sign up for the Rec. Membership or do I need the Senior Membership?
Also is it worth it or should I just pay the one off $15 per event if I'm only going to do 4 or 5 races?

A rec license will not cover you for racing.
If you are going to do 5 or more MTBA sanctioned races a yearly license is the way to go.
The money does go to some good stuff re trail advocacy and that.
Yeah... and you can join any club you like - doesn't have to be local. There's a list of NSW clubs here:

IMHO one should support the clubs that build/maintain cool tracks. Flynny's CTMTB (Hassans Walls, Lisdale, MT York), WMBC (Appin), WSMTB (Yellowmundee), HMBA (Awaba), CORC (all the Can'bra tracks), etc.
Staring down the barrel at a shoulder surgery in the next couple months so probably won't the the membership.
