Please don’t forget to go to the public meeting if you can 6pm at the Council Chambers in Dee Why – they ask people to wear a white t-shirt...

Perhaps you could elaborate on what this meeting is and what their aims are?

who have been hiding under a rock? it's been discussed on here before, but here is the low down...

There is a proposal to put a massive development in rural Oxford Falls Valley.

Currently the site only has 6 rural properties over 33 acres.
The development proposed is for 500 units 4 storeys High. 8 x four-storey buildings and 18 x three-storey buildings

CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT IN OXFORD FALLS. If not, could you click on the links to voice your concern.
PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE:
Take a moment to make your protest heard. Write a letter, an email, make a phone call, come to a meeting, tell your friends!
Objections must be made by February 27!!

Important Public Meeting
Warringah Council Chambers
Monday the 16th of Feb, 6.00pm

Here are a few of points you may like to use:
Main community concerns
· Development is totally out of character / inappropriate for this rural area.

· No additional infrastructure for traffic, stormwater..........

· Traffic congestion – mention school, church on a country lane.

· Bushfire risk – 1000 elderly residents in 4 storey towers surrounded by bush

· Precedence for the rest of our semi rural areas to be developed. Will become another Warriewood or Dee Why.

· Against Warringah Council’s desired use for this area and fails to meet the Local Environment Plan and State Govt policies

· Insulates seniors away from the rest of the community. No buses, shops,

· Twice rejected by council already, going against major public opinion.

.....They had the new (6 month) minister on the radio this morning.(name escapes me)

The overall objection from the host was that Morgan Rd is not satisfactory for fire evacuation for that many elderly people as it passes through the fire zone.

That’s probably the best argument against the nursing home development.

So who’s going tonight?

Channel Ten just had a news report about the Oxford Falls development and how it is at major risk from bushfire. If the media is now reporting it public opinion may help influence the planning ministers decision. Most excellent.

It will be much more newsworthy if you leave the pants at home Eye-wink
