Hi all, problem is I have just replaced my rear disk brakes and have got everything back together fine but the drag on the wheel seems to be a little excessive and I barely need to touch the lever to get the tyre to lock up. What I would like to know is there a way of loosing the pads or do i need to wait until they wear down slightly?
any help is greatly appreciated. Matt

hi matt. i am not a guru by any stretch but here goes. when your old pads wore down, the pistons pushed out. as part of fitting nw brakes, you need to use to old pads and lever the pads back in before fitting the new pads. if this does not work, you may need to bleed the system a little to get the appropriate space for the new pads. so, replace the old pads, lever out and refit the newies. andy
thanks Andy, i did lever out the pistons and I also spaced the new pads once installed. I was a little hesitant to bleed the system as was not sure if it would be needed and am not real sure how to do it as having never done before.
loosen the caliper housing hold the lever on retighten the housing then spin it then hit the brakes then see if it is free then
