Holiday ideas

I've got a week's holiday coming up and looking for ideas and suggestions on where to go.

I'm keen on spending the time riding my bike, exploring, and relaxing. It will however be during the school holidays coming up in July so don't want anywhere that will be too crowded or expensive.

I thought of heading south but being winter I'd prefer to go north and somewhere warmer. Smiling
I'll take a tent with me but will prefer to stay in cheap motels or cabins at caravan parks.

Any suggestions?

Maybe spend a day or two on the trails around Taree? Then north to Coffs for a bit?

Cheers
Jon

that sounds like a classic road trip ,you you could start at glenrock, than do the tenoni trails at Taree hit Bago trails at Wauchope move on to telegraph point at port macquarie than head to Kempsey and ride the 'golf course track'than up to coffs! what a blast Smiling check out www.hvmtbr.com for some info

The end of last summer I spent a week in Crescent head
Gave the Kempsey bike shop a call (Kempsey off road cyclists website or something similar)
And met up with a bunch of guys, including the owner of the shop, who showed me around their golf course trails
They even organised another ride to show me around some more - good bunch of people

Morning at the beach and arvo on sweet MTB trails
For a week I was living the dream!

Thanks for the ideas Smiling
Might go grab myself a roadmap from NRMA at lunchtime and start mapping something out!

So what did you decide to do for your holiday?
I'd like to do pretty much exactly what craked suggested above but maybe even go as far as Coffs.

Are there any places worth visting north of Port Maquarie?

He only left yesterday.

Not quite as far north as Port, but Taree has some killer trails at Kiwarrak. Two Dogs and Sweet As were soem of the highlights from my visit there a couple of months ago. (Has it been that long? Sad )

And there are a few nobmobbers moved up there and getting a bit lonely who would love to show you around. Smiling

its fun access just near Bonville
alternatively you can do the adjacent forest. It s great but a little hard to find your way around and the motos had ripped some of it up at Easter

Had a quick look/ride this afternoon. Looks like heaps of singletrack but it was getting late and dark so I didn't get to do much exploring. Will get back over there tomorrow or Monday and have a better look.
I did notice a lot of track damage by Moto X bikes unfortunately Sad
Pretty wet and slippery too so hopefully will dry out a bit soon.

Staying in Coffs this weekend so plenty of time.
