Bottom Bracket

By Brian - Posted on 18 October 2010

Looks like my bottom bracket has gone. Hopefully it will be under warranty but I have heard the FSA ones can have a short life span.

Can I get any bottom bracket brand and if so, anyone recommend one. Its a BB30 for a Cannondale RZ140.

Brian for your bike there is only one choice - CHRIS KING !

You will have no problems then.

I have booked it into the shop and see what they say. I will invest in some tools to pull it apart and get some spare bearings.

You work at KOM2 Gazza? just up the road from me! I like it Smiling

nice open space, had a good chat to Nick about wheels Smiling

what days are you there?

Can't you just go to the bearing shop and get two new bearings?

I ain't no bike mech! I did the shop fitout but am now working upstairs getting it ready for a spin studio!
Yeah, Nick really knows his way around a wheel. The staff they have in there really know the industry well.
And no, they didn't pay me to say that! Eye-wink

ahhh that makes more sense now Smiling

Love the layout of KOM2, KOM was just way too cramped and overloaded.

This way is much better!

Spin class hey? no thanks! Smiling

Yes Nick was telling me my SLR's are weighing down my blur! Sounds like a need a real wheelset for it!! Smiling

They way I hear it the spin classes at KoM2 will be run by some evil b@stard in 1h30 blocks.

No thank you indeed! Eye-wink

only some of them will be.
it's a great way to get race fit!

to go for a group ride when the weather's foul!

I did a couple of spin classes back to back at Virgin Active in prep for the Bigfoot. A 1 hour 30 session sounds excellent.

from the replies above does this mean all bb are interchangable? i have a shimano bb-es30 and may be up for replacement soon if i cant get it going when i service it first

Brian's picture

No they are not. To fit a non bb30 style in a bb30 then you have to fit an adapter to go down to the smaller ones.
