Hi, I was wondering if anyone can reccommend somewhere/one to repair my frame. I have fallen off and sort of squashed the seat stay.....bit of a bummer really. Thanks in advance for any info.

I can't help but what material are you talking about

If you love the frame enough to repair it, send it to Grip Sport in Victoria. I've used them to put disc tabs on my frame and there work is stunning.

There is instructions on their website on how to box your frame to save postage. Worth a look.

I don't know anyone locally either.

The frame is alloy...

Yeah I was looking at the grip site today...thought I would see if there was anything closer before I contacted them.
Good to know they do good work. Thx

Gripsport are famous for their work (lucky I have never needed to use them for anything!) and the only ones I have ever heard of that do this kind of professional welding, to that high standard, on Mtb bikes.

I talked to Gripsport and then I found a new swing arm...Just wanted to say that Jon at Gripsport was really helpful and I thought it was a reasonable price...They seemed pretty confident that they could pretty much fix anything.

I would say their repairs are a bit hot and cold - maybe it depends on who did your work?

A mate took a broken Superlight off my hands, and they did a great (non-weld) repair and respray - the frame lasted another 5 years (broke in a different spot).

I go a head tube repair and disc tabs added to a hardtail - the head tube work was ugly, and there was overspray from the disc tab repair.

Not particularly cheap either, but if you love the frame, their repairs are sturdy - you might just want to get them to spell out exactly what they will do, and express concern about how clean the finished product will be in order to set the right expectation.

And yes, their packing instructions are very good.
