Trails around the Gold Coast
The missus is attending a 5 day training course on the Gold Coast in September, so I'm planning to utilise "Kids Club" for a couple of days and explore the trails around the Gold Coast and the Hinterland.
Does anybody have any details of the cross country trails around that area - I have a car so further afield is OK although I do have to pick the kids up at some stage.
I've checked out the Gold Coast MTB site and there wasn't a great deal of info there.

Looks pretty close and certainly has fire trail so might be worth a look. If you can find this sniggle they talk about all the better!

Thanks Rob, Nerang sounds the go and it close by as well.
A great spot in Sth East QLD is Daisy Hill - just 30-40 up the hwy (towards Brisbane) from the Goldie. Some really good tracks for all skill levels. you could spend the entire day here and still not cover the same ground. the local MTB community take great care of the trails. people riding her a generally friendly and will give you good advice on where to ride. It's easy to get to and generally easy to find your way around. I'd go to Daisy Hill over Nerang any day.

Daisy Hill does look to go with a heap of singletrack. I think I'll make this my first ride spot. Thanks for the heads up.

Just by asking 'tis done... any searches for MTB on the Gold coast will find this page and them
probably the best MTB shop we have come across in AU - For The Riders is based at Annerley. It is MTB only - the guys that own it work there, and ride MTB and sponsor the local MTB community. very friendly service and knowledgable. there are links to this shop on the mtbdirt site
boyfriend just advised that For The Riders have opened up a second shop at Browns Plains which is closer to the Gold Coast
