The course

AMBC has developed a customised women's course aimed at giving you the ability to develop your skills in a comfortable training environment. This course is designed specifically to give you an understanding of the fundamentals of mountain bike riding. It will give you a great opportunity to learn more about mountain biking, learn some of the techniques and skills needed to ride over mountain bike terrain plus show you how to set-up and maintain your bike.

This course is specifically designed for the female novice rider and will focus on the needs of the participants. The course will ensure that you gain a better understanding of mountain biking and you will leave with a range of knowledge and skills to make you more confident on the trail.

What you will learn

~ Setting up your bike properly
~ How a mountain bike works
~ Tackling different terrain (sand, roots, rocks, dirt)
~ Cornering safely and at speed
~ Balance
~ Tackling small obstacles
~ Negotiating small drops safely
~ Open climbs and technical climbs
~ Safe descending
~ General trail riding - easy to medium level
