Race Details:
Entry cost is $57 per rider + gst
Teams of 1,2,3 and 4 with the possibility of the 'Everyone's a solo' making a return.
A rider cap of 175 will be in place.
Toilets and BBQ will be on site.
On course treasure hunt.
Trophies and cash for 1st,2nd and 3rd.
Event sponsor details to be announced.

Also, a limited edition event quality Bond's T with colour print for $40 inc GST will be available for pre-ordering on the understanding that we will need a min of 25 T's to be ordered before we make the run. Contact us via email to put your name down of the list to order, or fill out the field when placing your entry.

Solo: Zero laps down
Two Merry Riders: Two laps down
Three's Not a Crowd: Three laps down
Four Musketeers: Four laps down

Just a reminder to people that the entries close on May 1st.
The newest bridge on the circuit was completed tonight so the two small bridges will be decommissioned this weekend.
For those who have seen the wall ride, the exit was extended today to prevent people high on the wall having to huck to flat. It also means that all lines carry a lot of speed into the next section.

I've updated the Awaba page and put in directions details (also above on this ride page now). Google says it's 1h45 from my place.
Be sure to say hello, I'll be on the timing desk or BBQ most of the day.
Hopefully I'll squeeze a few laps in.
For those who may not have entered, the entries page is still open till sunday night. Rider numbers are up on what we expected to get although the rider cap hasn't been reached.
Really hoping this is a fun event for people. It should be.
Can we buy food there, such as sausage sambo's and bacon and egg rolls or do we need to bring stuff to cook on the BBQ?

For those worried about the track tomorrow given the super wet conditions in Newcastle today.........I just got back from setting the trail and not a single drop has fallen at Awaba as of 4pm.
Very dry out there. Actually a little rain on the trail would be nice.
So no need to worry about it being too wet to race, unless tonight is torrential out there.

Had a great time at the Vestal Virgin 10hr
Pretty laid back event, le Mans style start
A 5.5k loop of pure singletrack, with great flow
smooth climbs and the odd jump to hit, about a 20 min lap
After the 1st lap anyone and everyone could ride
so team laps were the choice of the day with a few rests / bbqs/ beers in between
Put out a few night laps and watched the finishing laps
Judges were bribed with alcohol, who ended up bribing riders w shots of tequila!!
One fella put away 7 shots, one per lap until he hit the 2nd tree and retired!!
Jason English cleaned up the solo
Finished up the event around a camp fire having a few beers
All and all a great social event, def doing it again
Look out for a Xmas bash and maybe a SS race too!!!

Glad you enjoyed the event.
We will have photos and the full results up soon, not that anyone really seemed to care about the results on the day. Have to say, some of the bribes were fantastic, culminating with the BLT as the rain started before pack up. As far as running an event goes, it was one of the most stressless, fun events I have been involved in and I thank the riders for that.
The Christmas bash is down for the 5th December. Should be a blast with a lot more single trail.
I was stoked to see so many people hang out at the end and camp, I think next time we need to have a decent fire going, assuming there is no fire ban happening.
Sorry everyone for not being social and greeting everybody at start. Had to show up at a party on FR night (good it was) and overslept. Also got a bit lost on the way there,... jadajadajada jumped on my bike at 13.30pm. Liked the track, and laid back atmosphere!! Haven't had my light fully recharged, so guess what - pitch black no warning, bit of a tumble in the woods, but I deserved it. Luckily had my spare light that got me through the rest of the evening. Loved every minute of it!! Anyone knows, when and where will be the results posted, please? Cheers .... Tony .
