Full Fling 2015
Living in Sydney allows an early morning drive to a couple of the bigger events depending on how far you are willing to drive and how early you want to get up. I decided to drive up early morning, so a 3.50am wake up was followed a quick shower and out the door I went for the 1.5 hr drive down to Bundanoon arriving at 5.45am.Pre -race was pretty straight forward with registration and getting the bike and my nutritional supplies all set up. Just past 7am I was up at the start line wondering if there was waves, however we all went off about 7.25am in a one group.
Stage 1
Hard to Mark Improvement?
Having started a new job approximately 8 weeks ago I said to myself I would give my self time to settle into work life and the adjustments that are needed to fit training around work/travel/other commitments and possible look at maybe the fling once I had settled. This lasted approximately 4 weeks before i decided I needed some excitement on the weekends and entered the convict 100 mid July.
Punished- Recovered- Punished again
Having completed only 2 events last year(convict 100 and the half fling) I have set about doing more racing then just training in 2015. The last two weekends have involved heading down to Huskisson for the husky 100 and then to Canberra for the Capital Punishment. Having previously only ridden Stromlo I thought the Capital would be a perfect opportunity to ride some of Canberra's other renowned trails. Starting at the back of wave two the race was fast and constant through the first 40km of mainly ST.
