A social lap, or 2, or 3, or 4
Ahhh... here comes spring
How nice it was to be out in the sun yesterday.
Originally a 'secret' ride to meet some potential Scott team mates and check out the current state of Manly Dam this was meant to be an hour or two there. Trying not to focus on the state of the track. There have been some silly, silly changes there but will let the rangers know and let's see if they can sort them out.
But back to a top day in the sun...
First lap we did the long ride over to the lookout by Bantry Bay and round the playing fields, back in a very leisurely time. Couple of the party split and junkie and I did another lap to take some pictures. Met plenty of friendly randoms on this lap. When asked about the picture taking and explaining about the changes there was lots of negative feedback. Ooops... not meant to be mentioning that
Right at the end of this lap bumped into a dude with a flat. Junkie lent him a tyre (and will surely receive one back sometime, somewhere - it's called karma ) before heading off home. Well - still enjoying the sunshine I decided to do another lap with this guy. Nice bloke from Byron Bay. Sounds like there's some nice riding up there. And some nice work - seems the dude spends his time kayaking, diving, hiking, riding, etc. as 'work'. B@stard!
So three down and time to go home? Not quiet as then I bumped into yet another bunch of NoBs and decided to accompany them on another lap. Rather slow with stoppages to practice and demonstrate riding various parts of the course. Good to see people cleaning lines for the first time.
As the happy-as rider on his new Giant from BA kept repeating, "Good times"
All in, 5h15 on the computer for 4 laps. OK, slow as, but with many breaks and a real nice day. Missed lunch and was ravenous by the time I got home - nothing two huge bowls of tuna pasta couldn't fix though. Ahhhhhhh
