As you might know one of our team is gonna be out for the Mont, broken arms and all that, so we went looking for a sub.

Happily two outstanding riders were found. Sadly we only needed one.

If anyone can offer second rider a berth in their team please let me know. I felt horrible having to let the dude down and was very keen to have him. I'm pretty sure any of our teams would be privileged to have this guy ride with them.

In the past I have seen non-registered riders doing a few laps in place of other registered riders, all they need to do is swap bike numbers and transponders.

Note: this only happens in teams that are just riding the Mont, not in teams racing the Mont.

The non registered rider isn't insured and by doing a lap opens up all sorts of issues if something goes pear shaped.

As a race organisor I would want to risk losing my house after some unregistered idiot has a tyre blow out and takes out a kid spectating on the side of the track...

If you are not a registered rider don't ride.

It may be a silly question but ... apparently daylight savings stats at Sunday 2am when clocks are put forward one hour. http://www.premiers.nsw.gov.au/NSWCommunity/Gene... so how is this going to affect the race?

Paul's picture

This means this could be the quickest Mont24 in history!

The only problem I can see is that those riding at change over will have to make sure their batteries can last the extra hour.

Just in case anyone else is so inclined I'll be staying down in Canberra for Monday and getting in a ride at Stromlo if the legs are up to it.

Cheers,
Matt.

Last year they bought on a shower block on the back of a semi - even had hot water but BYO soap on a rope.

Last year? This race has never been run before Sticking out tongue

Thinking I'd lost a battery I ordered a new one the other day only to discover the original one hiding in the corner of the sofa, bloody things are far too light/small/black ;-}

So I have a surplus battery and pouch I'd sell for $25 to anyone who wants it, I paid $45 all up including $10 postage, just PM me if you're keen.

Ta,
Matt.

Does anyone know REALLY know what the weather is doing at Majura????? The reports up here says rain. Some rain would be good to make the track a bit more grippy and reduce the dust in the air that will be kicked up by the riders but I'm not keen for a wet / raining conditions.

Not looking for an excuse to bail are we? Eye-wink

If it's raining I'm not going ;-}

good luck in mont everyone! maybe next year for me... (thoses worried about rain, i was down at majura while it was raining, and it was still awesome, really hard packed soil, nothing like what happens to our local trails when it rains!)
