When a plan doesn't come together

On the long weekend, thanks to terrible northern beaches weather, I made plans to repair my car and my bike. On saturday I attacked the car with no problems. On sunday I stripped the bottom bracket off the bike, attempting to change the bearings in the cups. I had done this before on a Race Face X type, but my Shimano BB is different. I could not get a punch on the back of the bearing and couldn't get it to budge...

I gave up and added some new grease to the old bearings and put it back together, leaving my new enduro bearings in the tool box until I can get hold of a decent bearing tool to remove the shimano bearings... What a dissapointment..
