Rocky Trail 4 hr Rd4

This race was initially scheduled for Mt Annan however a bit of midweek rain had the promoter swapping the locations for Rd2 & 3. I like Awaba so stayed positive despite a few ml of rain in the days leading up the race.

The update on Friday night indicated the track was OK. A bit of a queue at registration meant a rush to get changed and back to the start line in time for the briefing. Pushed in somewhere near the front of the start line however it was still a constant queue of people the whole way round the first lap. The traffic started to thin out on the second lap and track conditions got a bit better the longer the race went. I ended up doing 6 laps. Had a crash on the 4th lap just before camleback and twisted my knee so slowed down after that. Walking the climb on two laps made my knee hurt more so I rode the switchbacks on the last lap.

Ended up 2nd behind Steve 01.
