Bird watch at MD
Gidday - long time reader.. first time poster.
Thought I'd warn MD riders about a particularly "protective" magpie/starling that swooped me on Saturday and then took some skin off my nose on Sunday.
It attacks in the middle section of Gibbs St betwen King Street and Arana St - riding up the hill. Look out - I reckon it could take your eye out.

... and I mean pancakes, when he's at trail maintenance days.
Get your mind out of the gutter.
Confirmed hit this morning so still need to keep your eyes peeled - not that that makes any difference with the stealth mode he employs.
I may have sussed out the secret then. In the last 5 or 6 laps of the Dam I haven't even seen the Butcher. When I get to the top of Arana St, I veer to the right and onto the driveway of the house on the corner. I then ride up the bit of grass and go up Gibbs St on the footpath, at the same time holding my nose.
