Servicing Time ATAC XS pedals
I spent this morning replacing the bearings and bushes in two sets of Time pedals and thought I'd share for anyone else that maybe running these pedals. Over the years my Time's developed some play so I thought I'd replace the internals myself.
Here is how I did it:
1) Remove the end caps. I improvised using two small screwdrivers but a set of circlip pliers will probably make things easier.
2) Remove the nut on the end of the axle.
3) The axle is quite snug in the bearing. You will need to use a drift or similar to tap out the axle.
4) I removed the plastic bushing on the crank end of the pedal by gently tapping a flat bladed screwdriver with a mallet against it from the other side.
5) I purchased the replacement bush from Smart Bike Parts. To press it in I used a similarly sized socket. Grease well and put the rubber seal back on top of the bush

6) I got the replacement ball bearing from the local bearing shop. The bearing has z969 on it.
7) Grease the axle and place back into the pedal body. Pop the bearing in the other side and secure with the nut. Install the end cap again.
