Nice Bike Lanes

Well in order to get half fit for the upcoming 24hr and 100km races I thought I'd go exlore a commuting route to the CBD from Hornsby with Paige. Having never ridden much on the bitumen before I decided to find the quietest route possible. Turns out that it was easier than expected to find a route with next to no traffic.
First I wound my way to Turramurra station though the backstreets of Warrawee and Wahroonga. Then across the Pacific Highway at Turramurra Cycles and down Kissing Point Rd into the Lane Cove National Park. Down the concrete to the weir and up the other side to the M2. Hopped on the M2 to Delhi Rd and then onto the new bike path on Epping Rd. This thing is amazing! 3 lanes the whole way to the Gore Hill Freeway (two bike and one walking lane). Then onto the bike path along the Gore Hill Freeway all the way to Naremburn where you have to cross the freeway to get up to West Rd. Down West Rd past Lozza's place into North Sydney. Then it was following the signs to Milsons Point and onto the bridge and across to the Rocks. Too easy. Ended up being around 30km.
The ride back was just the reverse until the M2 where you can't go west past Ryde Rd. So instead I had to go up past the Macquarie Shopping Centre and Uni. Here I got a bit lost as the bike signs were all directing you to the Beecroft section of the M2. Instead I wanted to cross under the M2 and back into the Lane Cove National Park. After a few wrong turns I eventually found it. The only other difficulty at this stage was the heat! It was well over 30 degrees! No long rides since the Fling didn't help either
I may try this route twice a week. Time to dust off the hardtail and put some slicks on it.
I was quite impressed by all the bike lanes available. All were well signposted too. I may whinge less about Epping Road having only one lane for cars now

First Update:
Rode in this morning. Left at 0645 and arrived at the AMP Building at 0810. Moving average of 24kmh. Feel good at the moment.....will see if I fall asleep by lunch
Home finally:
Well made it home. Pretty buggered now. That very last bit of Kissing Point Road just before Turramurra Cycles is a killer. Only managed to average 20kmh back.
