Three hour slog in the Jungle .....um forest
What a race this was , and even caught up with a few other Nobmob riders which had to be a first for a ride / race i have posted .
With not much Sydney riding in preparation for this race and only three night rides ( and one little race ) over the last month , i set off from the mid pack .......slid to near the rear by the first of the single track , Sean and Morgan were nice enough to leave some dust for me to ride through..( same start as the mont but riding ) but i felt great and pumped out consistant 30 min Approx laps for two hours on some really smooth trails with not much in the way of climing but heaps of winding gently sloping riding over the eight k's . But then ...Pain , those little easy climbs started to hurt and my lack of bike time came back to haunt me . This was probably the first race i can remember feeling every pedal stroke on every climb for the last hour of the race BUT i was happy that i didnt have a break the whole three hours, although stairs were a rather large challenge on Saturday night ....as was staying awake at dinner with my patient wife . Woke up as fresh as on sunday morning ready to train and loose the gut , which i dont remember ordering either ....
Bring on Sparrow Hill CORC club round in two weeks ....And the to be posted rides at Sparrow / Stromlo around the 4/5 july
