noob question about valves

Beginner noob question. Can I use a presta valve tube on a rim with an opening for a Schrader valve. also roughly much would an adaptor cost for my pump to use with a presta valve?

Thanks for any help

Camelbak… rogue or fairfax

Looking to buy a small hydration pack, with a bit of cargo possibility (extra tube etc…),
and I can't make the choice in between the Camelbak Rogue or Fairfax.

Anyone could recommend one of these two?

Think my next bike will be carbon

Just saw this and that really settles the carbon debate for me, was always worried about rock strikes but if you can do what they do to it in these tests there is no way you will break it in normal XC riding.

Hi All,

I had my '09 Epic serviced the other week by the guys at Wembley (thanks boys!) and they mentioned that the rear wheel is on its way out so I thought I should start investigating some options... Could I get some advise as to what to look for? I notice chainreactions has a sale on wheelsets at the moment reviews on the Mavic's look good.

Chainring shifting issues - best option?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I was having some shifting problems a while back going from middle to inner chain ring (the shift would be very slow or would have to be accompanied by a shift on the cassette to make the chain jump down). The LBS filed the teeth on the chainrings a little and this improved a lot. However, the problem has started to return. If I am in the middle ring and shift to the lower ring it will just rub on the deraileur cage until I shift up and down the cassette and then it will shift down the chainring.

Flood damage to bikes

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On Sunday I had the misfortune of a flooded garage. This was basically caused by all the heavy rain late at night. If you are interested, here is a video of the flooding:

Im trying to get the insurance claim done. Does anyone know anything about water damage to bicycles? The bikes were completely submerged in muddy water overnight, I pulled them out in the morning. (Giant Roam ladies, Commencal Meta 5.2 and a custom built hybrid/racer)

Tyre Choice & Rotorua

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hey all,

With health issues keeping me off the bike most of summer I'm just getting back on the steed and swapped out my Front tyre to a Kenda Nevegal, thinking that it would offer some good mud clearing attributes, though the thing is, since putting it on I have slid the front tyre out pretty much every ride. Now I'm a rider that stacks often but am thinking this is getting too much and never usually stack by sliding the front tyre out.

Fork Maintenance

Hi, what happens if you never maintain your front fork?

I have a 2006 Fox and all I have ever done is clean the metal surfaces of the upper stems after every (well, most) rides. To me it works still great. Should I be expecting any trouble out of this?

Cheers,
Volker
