Hanging Rock

An easy fire trail ride with lots of big water bars for fun. The trail ends a Baltzer Lookout with views across the Grose valley towards Pierces pass and Mt Banks.

A steep walking trail heads down to the left to access the spectacular "Hanging rock" (known to BASE jumpers as "the Finger") best to leave the bikes at the top.

A great run down into the Wolgan Valley from up on the Newnes Plateau.

Approx 30km for either Lithgow or Clarence turn off the Glow Worm tunnel rd to the right on to the Old Coach road.

5km of gentle descent will to the locked gate. Over this and on the road becomes steeper and rougher. Big water bars and spectacular views.

Just watch out for the second gate. you cross a flat section with views over pagodas to the left. the road drops down again around a left and then back to the right in between two pagodas... this is where the gate is.

A nice way to start the Endure Loop from the Zig Zag rail way end.

Starting just past the concret ponds at the Water works dam turn off follow the side road the parallels Newnes Forest road. Just before this rejoins the main road head down to the left.

This use to be a very over grown fire road that soon became single trail, however last time i was there it had been up graded and a pumping station for clarence colliery was being developed not far in.

Single track now starts just behind the pumping station.

One of the first bits of trail i designed and constructed from scratch and still one of my favorite sections at Lidsdale.

More twisty than it looks on the map it just has a nice flow. 3 little jumps add to it's appeal.
The first is a small double, though it's now rollable due to the landed being pounded down by repeated casings. The Seconds a single hump that i like to prejump to pump out of the back end and the Third is a bigger double off to the left that sets you up for the sharp right/left into the Dungeon.

The Wang Kings Dungeon

The bottom part of the Dungeon was first constructed by some of the Wang locals as a little DH trail. We liked it so incorporated it into the trail with an little climb back out to the fire rd.

Following on from the Flyers it's a damn nice run even if I do say so myself

Brams Bendy bits

Brams Bendy bits is a relatively easy climb out from the Dungeon. Some tight tiwsts snake it's way up beside the fire road.

Can be hooked up with the Frequent Flyiers and Dungeon for another nice mirco loop

This was a nice little ride/walk....

After a fun DH and some not so fun up hill slogs we turned of the firetrail 1 gully to early and found ourselves following some very "over grown" single trail... before reaching the top fire trail again and then on into the second bit of single trail near the old forestry house.

Not a bad ride, the up hills are a real challenge if you want to try and push yourself and the single trail a little straight if your not going full pass on a moto but interesting all the same
