The Pony Express is to be the new club DH track.

Officially it is only open to club members and on club days.

Bottom section crosses land leased by the Lithgow Pony Club. A lot of work, by both our organisations, has gone into getting this arrangement approved so don't stuff it up by being a tool.

If you come across a horse rider stop and dismount then walk you bike slowly past. If the horse acts up. stop and ask the rider what he/she wants you to do, then follow their instructions.

CANNONBALL DOWNHILL TRAIL
Level: Advanced
Distance: 3.3km
Style: Technical

Thredbo’s signature trail, descending 600m vertically through the tree-lined Supertrail slopes. Cannonball tests riders with off-camber roots, rock drops, jumps, wall-ride and other technical features that the gravity specialists dream about. Recent upgrades include more fall-line added along with some big jumps in the mix for the freeriders. *Full-face helmet compulsory.

A couple of very steep descents offer a nice challenge and in between there some very fast, all be it narrow, sections of single trail.

This trail is now closed, and will be re-vegetated.

An alternate trail linkage will be advised shortly.

Approximately half-way there are aboriginal rock carvings. These carvings are protected by federal and state law and riding over the top of them is inappropriate.

Note that individuals found guilty of a damaging an Aboriginal object without intent - face $110,000 or six months in jail. Those proven to have ''knowingly'' damaged an object face $550,000 or two years' jail.
