hi there, i've just moved to
hi there, i've just moved to Sydney 2 weeks ago. Is there a way to get to the trailhead by public transport? I don't own a car as yet. I'm currently staying at Denistone East.
Public Transport Sucks
I wish it didn't but sad to say the public transport to many great trails just does not exist or is terrible.
Just for fun I asked http://131500.info/ directions for you. 2h12m it says. You goto West Ryde station and take a train to Chatswood. Wait half an hour before you take a bus to Wyatt Ave in Belrose (wow, luckily it goes where you want). I doubt you can take bikes on Sydney buses though.
The 20Km ride would be quicker and more fun (you can cut through Cascades on the way) although you might not be game for much riding once there... well... if you were saving energy for the 20Km ride home!
20km ride there, 20km plus
20km ride there, 20km plus according to this website and 20km home. 60km all together...i might not make it home. Is there a carpool or anything of that sort available? Will pay for lunch / drinks.
the bus
company you would need from chatswood is Forest Coach Lines - they are normally really nice and I am sure if you called them they would let you put the bike on it - i can't remember their phone number but they have always been better than the usual company...
I would offer you a lift but my ute is at the mechanics in Botany this week...plus I may have to work AGAIN
good luck!
MEEE
Thanks for the tip
Thanks for the tip Christine. I'll check that out. In the mean time, anyone else going that might be kind enough to give me lift? I'll ride down to wherever u are. Free lunch as well. Sorry if this sounds desperate, i've not been riding for the past 3 weeks. Getting withdrawal symptoms bad.
Can you get to Hornsby station
Not completly au fait with the public transport system, but if you can make it to hornsby station I'll happly give you a lift.
Hi Gary. Thanks for the
Hi Gary. Thanks for the offer. I should be able to. What time is good for u?
bus from Chatswood
284 will drop you at Morgan Rd and Forest way as will a couple of other routes Approx 30 mins. Very short and fast ride to trail head. About 1.5 Km.
Forest Coach lines as Christine said. http://forestcoachlines.com.au/html/time/frame.html
If you get a lift from Hornsby thats a pretty good deal!

8.30
If you can get there for about 8.30 that will give us plenty of time to get over to Oxford Falls.
Any problems my mobile is 0433849841.
Thanks!
Great! Thanks alot buddy. See you then.
Early Ride
If anybody is interested I'm planning to get there for a 7.30am start - I reckon I can do Little Moab, Road to No-Where and the Cross Country loop in plenty of time to get back for the 9.00am cleanup.
Depending on when the clean up finishes and how hot it is may also go for a ride afterwards.
no bike
Gday fellow trash collectors, unfortunatly no chance of a ride for me broke my crank and still waiting for a replacement so its just clean up and drive home for me
see you there

dez
let me know and you can borrow the big hit if you like.it got two front chainrings so can be used around the cross country although it does take it out of you on the climbs but there isnt enough of them to warrant not riding it.
ta Gaz
