The front fork on my Giant Trance X2 has some self induced issues and I'm looking to replace it.

Bike is: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/model/...

I'm looking at this fork: http://www.foxracingshox.com/product.php?m=bike&...

Has anyone replaced the form on a 2010 Trance X2 before? What should I consider when replacing the fork on my bike?

I know it needs to be 15QR?
What about 1.5" steerer vs 1 1/8" taper steerer?

Also what tools will I need to do the job?

Thanks NobMobers. Appreciate any help you can give.

Your bike is 1 1/8th top and bottom
Fork is 1 1/8th top, 1.5 at the bottom?
Unless someone calls me stupid and corrects me? Which people do often! Sad

Assuming that makes it a no go and I need to find a for with 1 1/8" top and bottom

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?M.... You can't have a tapered tube. This one is 1 1/8 all the way

It looks to me like the original fork on the Fox site is available with straight or tapered steerers

Thanks for the advice guys. I was also hoping for an upgrade to a fork with a remote for lockout.

Will keep looking around and good to know that the original fork is still available

can't you put remote lockout on your forks at present ?
