National Park Planning in the Blue Mountains
Fell into my inbox this morning:
Plans of management for Blue Mountains, Kanangra-Boyd and Wollemi National Parks, part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, are currently being revised by the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS). An opportunity exists for stakeholders to register their interest in the planning process.
Stakeholders are any individuals or groups with an interest in an activity or outcome associated with Blue Mountains, Kanangra-Boyd or Wollemi National Parks. By registering your interest and providing your contact details, the NPWS will engage with you as the plans of management for these three reserves are revised. As part of registration, you can choose your level of involvement and you can nominate which of the three national parks you are interested in.
To register as a stakeholder visit: http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/protectedareas... and submit an online registration, or telephone the Planning Officer at the Blue Mountains Region office in Katoomba: 02-4784-7300 to receive a hard copy in the mail.
Registrations close COB Friday, 28 August 2009.
Anyone here in a position to register and attend a meeting to put the case for keeping the Oaks single track and legalising some other stuff in the area?

Hi Guys,
I have registered and will attend the meetings and submit our concerns as a group.
I will keep this like posted as to updates and outcomes from meetings.
If you have never ridden the Oaks Fire trial from Woodford to Glenbrook,
and then done the single trail at the end. I would suggest you get out there and do it,
it has something for everyone and is just a hoot.
CHRIS
We've also got our names down. We were approached a while ago to get a landcare/trail maintenace/weed removal thing going on for areas like Yellowmundee, Blue Gum Swamp and Grose Head South. Even though it's been dragging on, it's heartening to see the that NPWS are keen tp engage in that kind of stuff with mtber's.
