Cascades Sat Morning - 28th
Hiya All,
I haven't riden the Cascades yet and was wondering if anyone else would join me. I'm aiming for a 8am or earlier start.
Drop a line and let me know if you're interested.
Now I know Stuart M isn't

Hi Evan,
This sounds good, even at 8am - I like Cascades Christine was just saying she wants to come too
Take a look at a couple of these routes:

or:

Load them up in different windows and flip between the two. You notice one starts at Ralson Ave (my preference), the other St Ives. One goes down the 'Technical Downhill' and the other decends Heath Track.
Both these are very nice, both involve climbing about 640m vertical (and of course dropping the same) - you game?
Count me in
Can we start at 7.30am from Douglas end?
Would be great to go up to Wyatt Rd then do Bare Creek/Heath track, then check out technical down hill bit(never done this before) then do the Quarry tract then back to Douglas St
Rob - could not figure it out on the map but the vertical climb of 640 metres - does that include the climb up Quarry track?
Hiya Rob,
I'm cool for 7:30 am start to suit tienster.
Technical down hill sounds fun to go down, but as I have not done this track I'm open for suggestions.
I'm coming from the Hornsby side, so Douglas street start would be better for me. I'm up for a descent ride, so we can always loop.
Evan
7:30am at Douglas ST sounds good too me - I should be able to get to work in time.
The techy bit from Heath track is full-on! Trashed Hubbys bike there last week. There are sections that everyone will be able to ride but I'm know few people that can ride the lot. I reckon we should all make sure our brakes are working well and pads are still good. Bring tubes etc.
Celia
PS Rob tells me there is an easier one than the techy section that I'm on about.
Hi all, 7:30am is great. Douglas street isnt the best however I will start early and ride there.
Happy for a longer ride too..
I will be kicking on afterward to rack up the training k's
Craig
All, I plan to join too if I can remember to set my alarm.
This will be my first NoBMoB ride although I have ridden Cascades a few times before.
See you on Saturday.
Mike.
Hi all,
I am new on this website and forum, but am a mid-level experience rider.
Is anyone interested in riding this track sometime later than 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday? Maybe like 10:00 a.m?
Cheers,
Liam Linstid.
Hi Liam,
I reckon we'd normally be doing something a bit later - like 8:30 maybe. Somehow this 7:30 suggestion popped up and people are liking it so am just going with the flow. Earlier also helps tomorrow 'cos I have to go to a wedding later in the day!
So - 7:30 it is. Douglas Street (top of Cascades Trail)
Hiya Rob,
How about we start at Douglas street and ride upto Kitchener St entry or the one before on the map ? And then go from there. I'm open for suggestions on the rest.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
I drive a silver commodore sv6, hopefully that helps you to spot me.
Evan
Just so we all meet in the right spot.
The entrance near corner of Acron and Douglas St.

Guys I am a likely non starter. Hyper extended my knee at touch footy and it is rather stuffed. Although walking is a challenge I think I could probably ride but dont think I should risk it. Dont know how serious it is. Am treating it and hoping for a speedy recovery.
Hiya All,
Thanks for a great ride to all those came. Cheers for showing me(us) around the tracks today Rob.
Evan
Very nice ride today - good to meet new folk again
Profile (remember to add on 1Km and 70m descent as per the comment):

I actually think that Celia's [ yes - where were you Celia? ] downhill and the one we went on are the same. The drops described sound like they are... bear left at one point where we went right, looks like that could come round a re-join later... then go right over a big-ish flat rock section then drop down huge face where we went straight.
Sorry - I know this description probably means nothing to anyone but me!
