Does anyone know if the XC loop at Awaba is open to ride?
If it is would anyone be keen to check it out? I was thinking August 22nd?

Awaba is open to ride it's about a 6km loop @ the moment & improving all the time. Would like to join you on the 22nd but can't be there until after 1pm, sunday would be better for me.

Unfortunatly I can't do sundays as I have to play soccer.
I Might be able to do an afternoon, but for me it will most likely have to be morning.

I've been wanting to ride Awaba since I saw the pics, I get to Newcastle at least once a week and would be keen for an arvo ride. John can't you do weekday arvo's?

I was there doing the DH on Saturday and chatted a guy who had just finished the XC. He said the loop was around 8kms and wasn't overly technical but flowed very well. He thought about 25 mins would be a decent time for a lap.

Big hills are meant to be minimal (unless you decide to hit the DH track - doable on a 5-6" trail bike but you might need to walk the rock garden - you'll also need some good brakes!).
