Lance wins Leadville in record time
Seems scumming might be good for MTB training after all!
Story here... although it's a bit brief:

Lance finished first in record time and 25 minute gap. Riding on a flat rear tire. Wonder how long it was flat for? Tire was flat for 10 miles according to this:

There's another report here:
http://www.mtbracenews.com/2009/08/leadville-100...
Stormy weather had dropped the temperature into the thirties [ed. don't forget that's close to freezing for the yanks ] at race time and when the light rain started to fall many of the top riders found themselves under prepared. “I was so cold once the rain started I couldn’t eat or drink for the first 40 miles, my hands couldn’t squeeze the bottle”, said Monavie-Cannondale.com rider Alex Grant, “I couldn’t even take a bottle at the first feed station because my hands didn’t work, they were so cold.”
Sounds like fun

From his tweets it sounds like Levi Leipheimer is up for it next year too
