24 hour randoms (2 or 3) needed for mixed 6.
This is a shout out to all the randoms out there who want to ride it, but thought they'd missed out on a spot on the Scott 24 hour team.
See - once upon a time there was a team consisting of Jay, Dan, Pieboy, Tien & Shaz. They asked me to join them which I did.
Then Jay dropped out 'cos he wants to do it solo.
Then Pieboy dropped out because he has to work.
Then Tien dropped out 'cos he wants to do it solo too.
Then Shaun decided he might like to join.
And the way I hear it Dan (who I've never met - hello Dan) may be in or out but not confirmed.
Now, if you're following all this you will see that Shaun, Shaz & I are definitely entering in mixed sixes so there is room for 2, possibly 3 boys or girls that are keen.
You know the drill - Mt Stromlo, dusty & like riding on the moon in the middle of the night (yes, some of us even need oxygen tanks too!).
So - anyone out there game?

not from our team - we have already had our 'bonding team dinner and drinks'...

I'm starting to panic! I'm loyal to Anfield but I'm getting offers from Man City and Barca.... what to do? C'mon riders, get with the good guys.
sorry.. we are keeping our 'secret weapons' in case we need them - one of our team members is a current part time resident due to his jetsetting lifestyle and what if one of us gets (god forbid) injured?
Besides, one of our reserves is from the 'village of the banned' so you won't really want him will you now... ?!

After entering two of these events i am thinking this is my chance to actually ride one. I am firmly wrapped up in cotton wool as we speak.

I mentioned it to a girlfriend of mine who is 'interested' but worried about her fitness and therfore speed - she is fit though, just did oxfam, has done the 50 at dirtworks twice and is generally very good at sport...what is going on with you guys and how serious are you planning to be?
and no, our team will NOT be suffering injuries (sam, shano) and our 'reserves' will hopefully be down drinking with us and NO YOU CANT HAVE THEM!!! lol

The Sacks are still Sad. Plenty of Non-Mobbers have shown interest, but panic once you tell them that the race goes for 24 hours. Funny that. Is anyone out there interested??? Anyone?
ok, now, i have raced with both rob and junkie and also social dirtworks'ed with you, so....is this a fun social team or are you boys planning 'race faces'? you are all capable of both!!
Also, are you happy for a second girl? or at this stage, are you just happy for ANYone...?!!

The only 'race faces' will be the ones from Mixed Nuts and The Imports, and if ppl are wanting to do PB lap times...
I'm going for the social aspect as I need to make to to the end of 24hrs, without collapsing into the foetal position afterwards! This may still happen though, depending on how much 'Vegie Pasta/Mexican Surprise' I purchase from the food stalls...

Kathryn fell for my fabulous reports about how fun 24hr racing is and how nice you all are and I never even mentioned white boards!!!
She is over seas for a couple of weeks but will be in touch when she gets back - I know that for a fact as I play touch with her too! (touch football that is... Stuart!)

My qualifications,
I've never quit a race I've entered so you know I'm good for more than 50km
I've been doing a bit of training for the Fling so I should be OK on the hills
I'm an insomniac so you know I won't fall asleep after 76km
I have my own tent and can provide a 3m x 3m gazebo as well as camp stove and light
I have a sense of humour so am normally really easy to get on with.
I share a passion for lights so we can do some comparisons and chew the fat a little

in the event you are still looking Rob, perhaps you may want to actually write something to make your team sound friendly and give any newbies an idea of what they may be looking to expect and also letting them know the 'won't hold the team up' ... a sales pitch could be in order here...

Rob, seeing this thread here http://nobmob.com/node/10608 including the video, I reckon you and Marhleet have a lot in commmmon, maybe you should try talking to him about joining. With all that equipment and your computer skills imaging the live video blog your team could have running, that would be exciting for the poor punters that can't get down there for the weekend.
If I'm going to be realistic he is probably a better match for your fitness and skill level anyway so good luck with it, hope you can fill that spot with someone worthy.

Have just read this very interesting tail of woe.If rider is still needed for the Scott i'm available.Most recent 24hr race was this year's Mont.Most recent race,Irate Intern,what a shit day out that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.Would love to ride in this years Scott and team of six would suit.
