The glow in the dark ride
Hiya,
i'm coming up to Sydney to do some work at ANSTO from 19-27th September and would like to get out to check out the local trails while i'm there. First suggestion would be to meet up on Wednesday night - but i'm reasonably flexible to get out with some locals rather than have to ride on my own.
hope to see some of you out on the trails

Silly question I know, but have you brought lights?
The usual Wednesday night ride is Terrey Hills Perimeter + Long (22km return) with the optional extra of Duck Holes + Centre (16km loop with a bit of road). Sound good?
I was thinking of doing this Wednesday as a gentle taper to Angry Doctor so welcome to join.
Hey Martin,
If you need lights, check out my Stellas in the Classified:

Hi Rob,
yeah, i've got lights. i won't be up at ANSTO until the week starting 21st Sept. Also, i don't know if i'd be able to get out and across to another location as i won't have a car with me during the week (i'm sure you'll be glad to know that i can't justify spending tax payers money on renting a car to go me mountain biking
i'll be coming up on saturday 19th and was going to look out what what rides people posted up for that weekend (19th and 20th). during the week i'll be flat out, but would like to take a night off to go for a ride in the local area (partly for sanity reasons!)
good luck at the Angry doctor.
Martin
I don't know if anybody has heard of ANST before, but from what I know it is the nuclear Reactor at Lucas Heights?
That being the case, All the amazing trails at Menai are LITERALLY right behind where he will be working.
Calling Chris S & Delicious! Show this young man the goodness of Menai won't you?!?
yep, that's the place - the one time i've been up already they mentioned that the local government have changed the name of the suburb, so i figured people may know of the reactor site.
I claim to be spmething of an Menai mtb trail expert yet there are several others who will happily fight me for that title. As it so happens I'll be in Whistler when you're around so you need to track down Chris S who is very clever, lives locally and makes nice cups of tea.
The trail system starts across the road from ANSTO so just bring your bike to work. Even without a guide you can give them go. If you get lost then don't worry...you'll be part taking in an activity that you enjoy.
Whilst i dont know menai too well....the RNP is still pretty close and a good spin so if your up for that let us know and a few of us can go out for a decent ride
