Training ride cut short by the weather gods
It was a good ride tonight in between the dust storm and the thunder storm was a clearish blue/brown sky which made the ride quite surreal .
The plan was to ride three laps , stop for a bite and do a night skyline /berm lap to finish BUT looking through the clouds of dust it was apparent that there would only be a one lap screamer ( that was my legs ) .
5mm of rain overnight and only a few small puddles to contend with today , the lap of choice was the signed no 4 lap which climbs the std climb to the observatory then turning left at Magpie rock and down the western side of the mountain through Slick rock and onto the really fast Double disillusion and some fun over the tabletops , wiping the manic grin from my dial over the western single track was hard , i had the whole side to myself apart from the biggest bloody roo i have seen in ages , more talkative than the rest of tonights group ......
This , from what i can work out , is near enough to a lap of the Scott in two weeks time and i am feeling the pain already from the 3am laps but am really looking forward to it
I will have the pleasure of riding at Bermagui MTB park tomorrow night on the fun flowing single track , hold of with the rain please ......
