Is Mt Buller worthwhile . They seem to be pushing mountain biking but the rides given on their web site are very short . For a full day driving each way one would want 2 or three days of good rides. It would appear to be more XC orientated than Thredbo . Has anybody been recently

It is fantastic down there.

If you are interested in heading down, have a look at http://www.rapidascent.com.au/BikeBuller/

I went down with a group of mates this year and we are going down again next year for it.

according to a few people we spoke to at Whistler, the guys that oversea Whistler MTB Park are helping the crew at Mt Buller with developing their trails/setup. Let's hope it does eventuate Smiling
Also worth a look in the Vic Alps is Mt Beauty.

I've been down to Mt buller before for DH, it was really good. The guys at altitude we're really good to deal with and had a great 3 days of riding.

If you don't wish to drive all day to Buller and drive all the way back with some great riding in between, then sit on a plane for many, many hours, frig around with airport stuff and transfers and then ride Whistler. Lots of choice and something for everyone. Tops.
