Hi all,

My name is Luke and i have recently moved to the northern beaches from the Blue Mountains.I'm keen to meet some new faces and ride some of the local trails around the area. I have been treking back to the mountains on occasion to ride but really want to explore the local trails with company as riding alone is quite boring after a while. I enjoy single track/xcountry riding mostly. I can ride on a sunday usually, is any one able to help me out?

Cheers

Luke.

Hey Luke

Just check out the forum each week. Most weeks someone will post up a ride. Just post a reply and turn up on the day. Everyone's welcome.

I COULD go Sunday morning but it would have to be early...I am going to Wilberforce/Ebeneezer that day...
Up to you - and do you know where you would want to go?

Trouble is, working this saturday am-early pm, then all of Saturday night finish @ 0730 Sunday. Really appreciate your offer though perhaps another weekend...Just recently moved to the northern beaches, i have been looking at some of the trails on this site, they look ok. I usually like something that is not to long so that i can get a ride in before work. Do you have any suggestions from the trails listed on this site?

Cheers

Luke.

Hi Luke

Maybe try Manly Dam. around 11km for one loop and takes less than an hour. Some technical sections, some singletrack and some firetrail. Good mix of everything.

For easy firetrail riding I rode Terrey Hills just last night. I just rode the Perimeter Trail out to the start of the Long Trail and turned around as it was getting late. 13km return....took me less than 50min. Around 24km if you add on the Long Trail to this.

so, then why didn't you come out on our night ride?

Buck's picture

Would have loved to Christine but thought I'd play it safe as I have no lights Smiling
So just rode from 6:30pm till around 7:30pm when theres still light.

Thanks for the suggestions Buck, i'll have a look.

Hello,

Are all welcome to come along for a ride? Can I join in as well? Sunday 4:30 right?

Put me down as tentative.
I'm riding the Dam on Saturday already with another friend so I'll see if I'm up for another run on Sunday.

Plus I'm kinda newish to the sport so if you guys are out there for a quick lap then I'd just hold you up Smiling

Hi all,

Just read another thread re: manly dam, apparently it has been bulldozed in parts, that does not sound so good. So shall we contiue with the proposed dam ride or does anyone have any alternative suggestions,i have no real clue about other rides in the area so i am happy to do whatever.

Luke.

Hey - I've been quiet about this, thus far - but will try to get out tomorrow arvo and join you guys. What's happened to certain parts sounds bad, but hopefully the last few Km, which was always my favourite, will be intact.

So I'm game to come along and have a look if you guys still are.

Buck's picture

Yeah it's not what it used to be but it's still a decent ride.

Ah - sorry, knew there was a reason I wasn't saying anything about Sunday earlier.

Have to go to an early evening thing, so won't be able to make a 4:30 ride. Doh! Apologies.
