Had my new Cannondale CAAD 9 for almost 4 weeks now and getting a bit more confident in traffic and with general handling etc.
Kings cross to military road- Pittwater rd-West head-Akuna Bay- Cottage point road down and back-Forest way-Wakehurst Parkway and military rd then back to kings cross.
What a beautiful ride! I've been missing out all those years just lifting weights. 117 km's in 4 hrs 37 at 25.3 km's per hour average.
How awesome is the road at west head! And so many roadies out there too. fantastic ride, i now see why my mate Brad who is also a mountain biker always has one weekend day for a road ride. Me thinks I'll be doing the same too in future...
That would be after the 8 1/4 at Ourimbah of course Smiling.

Yeah - why mess about easing into it! Eye-wink

Did the same ride this morning (minus the City->Terrey Hills->City) part Laughing out loud

How'd you like the first bit of that climb out of Cottage Pt? I hadn't done it before and it's a bit rude, no? One can really crank down West Head Rd too... especially when being towed by Junkie! Eye-wink

You mean you can road ride without being serious?

I'd thought from all the po-faced looks that roadies have on their weekend rides that being less than serious was not an option. Sticking out tongue

I was discussing what a good average speed etc was and i asked my mate if that includes cottage point and he laughed and said that cottage point is an annual affair! glad i got mine in early...
