Glenbrook Station.
TFB: OAKS TRAIL CLOSED
20/11/09 UPDATE: Unless it rains saturday night or sunday morning, the ride is off.
19/11/09 16:00HRS NEWS JUST IN (THANK YOU ROBIN):
Please note that there is a Total Fire Ban predicted for this weekend (21 – 22 Nov) this will lead to closure of all fire trails and tracks within the Sydney basin parks. Here’s the Rural Fire Service website link to check Friday night if the ban will in fact be placed http://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/dsp_content.cfm?cat_id.... Keep safe.
Countering that there may be some rain Friday and Saturday afternoon:

STAY TUNED.

Not a mistake. Yes, I am doing it Saturday and Sunday lol
6:53am depart Glenbrook Station
7:23am arrive Woodford Station
The ride takes me, a beginner maybe just creeping into the intermediate skill bracket with average fitness for a 40 year old about 2hrs. If you are a hesitant rider, then the Saturday 21 November invitation will be a better. My friends doing this ride are not necessarily good but are confident.
This is an ideal invitation for someone that wants to try the Oaks Trail but for one reason or another is uncomfortable starting it alone. You will be more than welcome to stay with me and anyone else that turns up for all or part of the ride.
If it is misty / drizzle I will still ride. If it is wet, you will get a thick line of mud all along your back and your water bottle will be covered in mud (i.e. you probably will be drinking a bit dirt with your water). Leave a change of clothes and a towel (for the car seat) in your car.
There is plenty of free street parking nearby - just check the signs.
