total fire ban

Garigal has "Total fire ban- no access" signs up at the Wyatt Ave entry at the start of the Heath/Bare Creek track at Belrose. There is nothing about it on the DECC website. I was a bit pissed off but turned back. Is this NPWS's usual trick of putting up a sign and leaving it there for weeks on end way after the event ?

last weeks leftover
but RFS says Bathurst is on a TFB today so expect that weather to be here tomorrow

but also,

Maintenance and improvement works will be undertaken at Davidson Park boat ramp from the 1st June 2009. There may be minor disruption to park users, however he boat ramp will remain open for use. This website will be updated with the closure date when available. NPWS apologises for any inconvenience.

Approximately 520 hectares of bushland were burnt for hazard reduction in November 2008. It is very important that members of the public stay out of burnt bushland areas for the following reasons:

•for safety reasons – only trees directly adjacent to the tracks/trails have been assessed for dangerous tree limbs. Trees inside the burnt areas, however, have been damaged by fire and branches/trees could fall down and injure someone.
•to help the bushland regenerate – by keeping off the newly burnt ground it will protect and enable new growth to form
•to prevent unauthorised tracks forming throughout the bushland.

that might be Nov 2009 with a typo

There is no ban today, or planned tomorrow. See:

Was it one of these badly worded ones?
