Cowan Track now MTB Permitted
Just back from a ride at Terrey Hills and I noticed there are now signs at the entry to Cowan Track saying "MTB Bikes Permitted".
Good stuff!
Many thanks to all involved, much appreciated

Any good? Is it steep or fairly level?
Cowan makes a nice out and back. It's 2km long so that's 4km added to your ride.

There are some sections with slight rock steps that make a little challenge. Haven't been down there in a long time though, can someone take a shot of the view next time they are there?
Some bits of that track are fun.
Who is responsible for this? I want to make sure they get re elected / promoted / knighted or whatever...
But maybe the regular sign will re-appear in winter time
Because the last time I rode Cowan in Summer
it was so thick with horrendous sized orb spiders
That I turned around half way and waited until winter
Maybe they're hoping that this will help cull the MTB population
I almost became a statistic when one beast crawled along the stick I was using to remove them
It had an abdomen about the size of a golf ball and I still have nightmares about it
Not that I was riding there illegally of course
I probably dreamed the whole thing
+1 ^^
Has anyone got a pic of the new sign?(if there is one)
Any trail getting legal mtb status is a big win for the Northern Beaches mtbrs, good work to anyone involved:)
What could you possibly have against spiders? It's the rabbits and foxes that trouble me. Brought here by the Poms they were! Remove them from our land I say and leave the spiders in peace....
PS; Remove the rabbits and foxes, the Poms can stay.
Thanks for the clarification, I actually quite like it here!
To Rob and the advocacy participants, and NPWS.
The tide is turning
rode it this am. It's a single and a half track, sort of like some dirtworks sections, honest ups and downs and rocks - good ride for picking lines and maintaining speed. I like. No spiders today - but I know the ones you mean - I stopped at the bottom of a rocky descent on Cowan track one time and pulled 4 spiders off me. Webs like steel hawsers. They don't bite they just look scary.
