Me and a mate have arranged for an unexpected ride for Yellowmundee in the lower Blue Mountains late on Sunday afternoon - looking for something like a 4:00 p.m. start. Hopefully all my shopping will be out of the way by then. Smiling

I have never ridden through there, so there is bound to be some exploration going on. But I should let you know this will be a fairly social, leisurely ride. Hey, it's Christmas!!

If anyone else was interested in joining us, please drop me a text message as you are more welcome to join us. Please use a text message as I will probably not be viewing this site late Saturday or on Sunday.

Cheers,
Liam.

Liam, hope you catch this before you go, take plenty of water, and a map if you can.

We normally ride there early am, don't ride there in summer at all because it gets so damn hot, so take plenty of water with you.

Trails are mostly marked but it depends on what the last race was. As a tip, when you park in the carpark, use the one at the start of the hill on Springwood Rd just before the S bends, there is a trail that hits the NP barriers on the southern side of the fire trail. Take this heading south / up the slight rise. You should find youself heading towards the power lines. Form here follow your nose.

If you get as far as the old trotting track, take care of the steep drop into the creek, left turn at the bottom, the boards here are killer slippery, don't even think of walking it, ten times worse, I know because I slipped and ended up with the bars in an uncomfortable place.

Enjoy, its a great track.

Thank you Stuart. That's good advice, and advice I will heed. I deliberately wanted to start the ride late so it will progress into the early evening, so the temp will be moderate.

The mate going with me tomorrow already has been to this area numerous times, it is only me that is the newbie! It should be great fun. I am looking forward to it.

Anyone interested in coming along?

Cheers.
