getting a frame sprayed soon( cannondale taurine) and went into a printers in Brookevale with some cannondale frame decals that i wanted copying but making about 30% larger. so i asked for a price for two "cannondales" and two "taurines".
price= $250!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are they joking?
i know a couple of printers who ride and might read this but i dont like to ask favours( as i dont like to many favours asked of me!)
all i want to know is, are there any other printers on the northern beaches that i can walk in the front door without them thinking i'm a bloody cashed up idiot( some say i'm an idiot but most know i'm not cashed up!)
i'd be gratefull for any advice/direction.
thanks,
gazza
p.s. if anyone tells me this was a reasonable price then i'm changing professions!

Sounds pricy to me, but i don't work in that sort of industry. have you tried sign writers? A lot have vinel cutters that can copy letters/ numbers by scanning the original and copy. size should be adjustable. [my parents had a sign writer for a nieghbour for a while and he could make heaps of stuff] could be worth a shot.

it actually was a sign place. oops!

try china / hong kong if that's not too un-australian ... if it is maybe you could try nz hehehe ... just kidding ...

i had a large print job done by a group called quality printing limited (qpl) hong kong ... their english isn't great but it's good enough if you have all the artwork done already and are exacting with your specifications ... be sure to check the copy before signing off nonetheless ...

GAZZA I'M IN PRINTING BUT YOU ARE MUCH BETTER OFF GOING TOO A SIGN WRITER OR BETTER STILL LOOK UNDER (CANNONDALE STICKER ) IN EBAY AND YOU WILL FIND EVERY COLOUR YOU COULD EVER WANT ,THE REASON A PRINTER WILL CHARGE YOU SO MUCH IS A PRINTING PRESS CAN RUN UP TO 70.000 COPIES AN HOUR SO FOR THEM TO RUN 1 COPY IS WAY TO HARD FOR THERE MACHINES TO COPE WITH, AS THEY WOULD NEED ARTWORK ,THEN PRINTING PLATES ,AND FOR A NORMAL COLOUR BROCHURE YOU NEED AT LEAST 4 PLATES (CYAN,MAG,YELLOW,AND BLACK)AND THEY ARE CHARGED TO YOU THE CLIENT AT AROUND $100 EACH SO DO YOU SEE WHY THEY CANNOT DO A SMALL RUN CHEAPLY .IF YOU GOT SOME BUSINESS CARDS MADE ,THE COST FOR 500 WOULD BE ONLY A FRACTION LESS THAN GETTING A 1000 CARDS DONE .JUST AN EXAMPLE ANYWAY IHOPE THIS HELPS YOU I WAS ON EBAY TODAY AND HAD A LOOK FOR YOU AND THEY HAVE HEAPS OF STICKERS IN DIFERENT SIZES SO YOU SHOULD FIND SOMETHING .
GOOD LUCK

I had some made from signking $50 for the dudes time and printing. Colour was not an issue as it was used as a template. Painted branding.

BA have a sticker cutting machine worth about 5k and have been cutting custom and replica stickers for in house resprays for years. They also have a proper spray booth, heated curing/drying room, plus a sandblasting bay. They are also an authorized resprayer for Cannondale Australia and perform most of their repair work.
250 spondalraoochies for the stickers! Stone the crows! are they cutting them from gold leaf and flying in the sacred hands of Tinker himself to cut them out?

Thought the above info may assist your quest.

Don't know if you remember my pre loved and much beaten 05 Stumpy, Fankles
But I've been toying with the idea of a re-spray for ages but all seems too hard

What would be a ball park for a sandblast, re-spray + stickers and how long would it take in days (moved from Sydney now). This would include putting the bike back together and maybe even taking some of it apart.

I know you probably hate these general questions, but just a ball park to see if it's viable
Dropping in isn't as easy as it used to be

Mr Bloot, I just organized recoating a frame for a NoBMoBber, assembly tomorrow am. We stripped and sandblasted it, sent it off for two colour powdercoating which cost $150 cee ash. A single colour in a common colour would have been about $60 or so, but the second colour was a special run so cost for guns to be cleaned etc. I estimate that the sandblasting on most dual suspension bikes would be about 1.5 hrs, but a specialized should only take about 20 minutes due to the notorious paint. I cannot fit a hardtail in my blast booth, which sucks 'cuz I want to do my HT soon.

Happy to look at the work you want done, from just the blast and powdercoat right through to full strip, service, rebuild and bearing replacement. Blast and powdercoat is about a 2 week turnaround usually.

Definitely worth considering
Given the age of the bike, I would probably just go 1 common colour
Notorious paint - I could almost strip the paint on this bike by farting on it

Should be able to catch up sometime
Where do you work - I could give you a look and get a ballpark figure etc
I have to travel to Caringbah every couple of weeks

Sorry for the hijack, Gaz
PM me if you want Nick

Good to hear you found a place. But for those that want to know a place. Sign, Display and Print I think it's called, on Harbord rd in Brookvale (next to drurey car radio) are great. I've had a heap of stickers made by them and they last really well. Really well priced too!

They'd be able to scan your sticker and then cut it in vinyl.
