Happy New Year
Fellow nobmober's.....I was riding the management trail (east) around the back of the St Ives showground followed by a shortest descent to creek below, but was stopped in my tracks by what I think is the gates to the wildflower garden..... Question? How does one link up this trail with the other side (west to phillip st etc....). I did not attempt to trespass through these gates, however i did come across a single track to the right some 50m before these gates. This track is super steep, only Danny Macskill would ride down it. Is this the only trail around these gates????
Your help would be appreciated, so as I'm seened to be doing the right thing.
Cheers...
Safe riding

Hi Sinkles,

If it's the gate I am thinking of then there are no signs saying keep out, you wouldn't be trespassing as it's public right of way on both sides. From what I have heard this gate is to keep dogs out, not people. It's been discussed on this site a few times before, and since the recent burn back it's very easy to see how to get "around" the fence. Just be careful with your footing (you will see what I mean when you try it).

I recall seeing a sign elsewhere on a fence/gate around Wildflower gardens saying that the fence is to keep wallabies/kangaroos out in order to protect the flora.

I don't believe the other side of the fence you refer to is restricted access in any way so you should be ok going around it.

cheers
