Has anybody got an update on the track conditions for the tracks / trails to be used for the husky 100 this weekend ?

I have no idea how the course down there hAndles the amont of rain we have had in the last week.

Not sure how they're holding up now but I road 2 of the single tracks back in November when it was quite wet. They coped well. Some of the fire roads through the forests were a different story, mainly clay!! Anytime I got back out on them the tyres were instantly clogged and slippery as anything. I just checked the forecast this morning, rain Saturday, increasing showers Sunday....atleast we won't get heat stroke!!

Given they have this secret section of track through private property I hope it's not affected by this rain with the landowner pulling the pin worried about erosion.

Its gonna be wet and pretty sticky on the fireoads. I will be riding with an old toothbrush in my back pocket - it will come in handy I think.

Forecasts are varied for the weekend, some say wet, others say 28 degrees. Some say both! Either way, it will not dry out enough now.
So....pack some thinner tyres, think about a camelbak instead of bottles (they will get covered immediately) and keep the cadence high.
It might also be worth attaching a old bit of inner tube between the crown and the 'brake arch' on the susp forks to limit the splatter that gets on your face - its a downhillers trick, but works realy well. Oh - if its really bad, back the tension off on your spd's - you'll struggle enough clipping in with shoes full crud!

See you down there - cant wait. 1st race of the year. Woo!!!!
