How many would be up for some social riding of the council car park in protest of the dam closure?
I really doubt we would get enough to make a impact.. but you never know
Or is it just a stupid idea fueled by my Friday afternoon carbo loading?

Maybe a Saturday to get more people on board?
They won't be there at the weekend, when any effective protest would have to be.

If you think it'd do any good, I'd be in. Just let me know a time and date and place. But if you do decide to do it, let's do it right and try and get as many people as we can including the press.
how many councilors work weekends?
would during the week be better?
if so, what day, and would their be enough support during the week?
OK, whats the most effective time?
I'd even take a few hours off work to support this one.
not sure if "illegal" riding of the dam is a better form of protest, although I'm sure that it would be more fun.
Just Imagine a critical mass kinda ride.. ride the Dam to the council in the afternoon peak hour..?
It's all about a show of numbers
to ride the Council chambers Carpark would be Mon - Fri from about 5pm onwards. Just a small handful of riders going around in circles in the carpark would make it impossible for people parked there, presumably councillors, to leave.
Of course it would be much better if we didn't all just take off on our own tangents but rather paid close attention to the ride organised and linked in Robs post above. A show of numbers will I'm sure speak volumes.
Does the carpark exit cross the footpath anywhere?
Cars crossing the footpath have to give way to pedestrians. Perfect place for a sit-in.
Tuesday week I think there is a council meeting in the evening from 6pm. A show of numbers could be very useful.
Rob will advise in due course how we can best help.
My advice would be to co-ordinate this action with other users from Rotorburn etc, as well as the various local businesses like BA, Rocky Trail Entertainment, AMBC et al. This will ensure a threshhold gets reached.
Extrodinary meeting being held next Tuesday 23rd Feb at 6pm to hopefully debate the issue.
A Silent protest ride to Council chambers would be ideal then. Show our numbers ! Take your kids in helmets too.
Followed by the Manly Dam trail legal protest ride Sat 6th march
Followed by another protest ride to Council chambers and attendance at the ordinary monthly meeting March 23rd
