15 votes seems a paltry effort considering what is at stake, and the momentum that is building.
This is a public site, and it would be nice to see a count of 100 or more positive votes.
I'm assuming many have emailed but not yet registered their vote.....
Every little bit counts - so register that you have sent emails please!

Following is the letter I have sent to all the councilors
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to you in light of the recent development which is the trail closure for Mountain bike riders at Manly Dam and how disgusting this decision is. I have only recently ( 4 - 5 months ) started mountain biking and I utilize Manly Dam between 2 - 5 times per week at varying times and in this time I have only ever came across approx. 10 walkers and have never considered it unsafe for either party and on 1 occasion was actually encouraged on by an older man ( 60 + ) who was walking ,to climb one of the harder sections. If this is not showing an instance of how the trail can be shared i don't know what is. Following is a couple of points / suggestions i would like to highlight :
There is an abundance of walking trails throughout Manly Dam in which mountain bikers are not permitted
There is only 1 loop around Manly Dam that was fully accessible to mountain bikers ( until this crazy decision to close sections ),
Manly Dam is a key attraction to the area for an abundance of people that partake in mountain biking which also assists with business and economy ( how many walkers come to the area for this ?)
from my viewing alone which I would consider quite common and close to actual statistics Mountain bike usage out numbers walkers by at least 100 to 1
better signage for area so that the walkers are aware that it is a joint trail and care should be taken as mountain bikers frequent the area.
have 2 separate trails 1 for walking and 1 for bikes which given the amount of trails which already exist should be quite easy to do
Councillors use more common sense
promote healthy safe lifestyles rather than forcing riders onto roads like Wakehurst Parkway to wait for accidents to happen
Thank you for your time and hopefully common sense will prevail.

Haven't e-mailed Warringah COuncil (yet) but I have written twice to the Manly Daily, to the Mad Monk (a.k.a. Tony Abbott) asking for his divine intervention and am going to try to see if the SMH will be interested.
@Dicky Green... yeah, it's a good plan to write the media and get the word spread. I've told the SMH it's a great story but they didn't print it, perhaps if a few more write it they would?
Had also thought about asking Mike Baird to see if Tony Abbott was interested... let us know what he says, eh?

they haven't written?
I have only had four or five (fantastic) people offer to help put flyers in the bike shops about the protest and not one person has offered to help with the signage to go on the trail heads.
All very easy to rant about the closure here
and while i am at it - IF you are coming to the protest please bring your bike - we need as many people as possible to be riding down the wakehurst parkway during our 'lap'
well i have emailed the council twice now and have even sent A current Affair some detail about the 6 th of march......
We will see how we go....they love getting stuck into councils especially warringah

I would like some at the trail heads - I started last week but after councillor Connie took down my Lizard Rock one in less than 24hrs (she lives next to the entrance to oxford falls) I decided to put them up closer to this weekend for maximum coverage...
If you are keen and riding about a pm would be great, I have them all ready to go and laminated
and if Connie reads this... I am persistant, I have more and I go past every day so they WILL be returning up there...
oh and i have police permission for the protest so there is no reason for them to be taken down prior to the event.

Indeed, please mail or email asap!! My vote was a "Yes!!"
I'm interested to know the reason(s) why those who said they haven't emailed council are?
.. councillors have told us they've had over 200 mails... people just didn't come here and tell us that is all

Hi Chrisitine
Happy to put some signs up around the place. I have a busy week but will endeavour to do my part.
What do you need me to do from here?
