The Grove: rebuilt and now open
Today's Manly Daily (pulped trees version) has a story saying "The Grove" at Seaforth has been professionally rebuilt and is now open for riding. No electronic version is available as far as I can see.
Last November there was a story here which announced the work was going to happen.
The Lesson: poor initial decision to reduce Council's perceived liability + lots of lobbying by riders + Council Elections + lots more lobbying by riders = eventual good result (only took a few years )

The story is in the digital edition, page 9
That's quicker than expected. Anyone checked it out yet?
Link? Google Maps Link would also be nice. Cheers
And some pictures? Someone want to go take a few? We could make a DB entry to document/promote this area.
Got me all exited for nothing.
Just went there with jump bike in car only to find the place still overgrown with no riding signs still in place.
Probably someone confusing the castle cove jumps with the Grove as they both have the same builder.
It stated that it will be professionally rebuilt and open for riding in MAY, the area is or will be designated exclusively for "Bike Riding"
A great result for Bike riding on the Beaches and Sydney.
Top work Mr Musgrove and also Manly Council for eventually coming around helping with the rebuild.
dropped past yesterday with a mate and therew as heavy machinery going, so looks like it isbeing built
does anyone know if there will be any beginner lines? has anyone seen the design?
Hey Chuckie,
Yeah, saw the plans at the last Council meeting. There are two lines, one shorter beginner line and one a bit more difficult. The plans showed all jumps will be tabletop, albeit with a bit of a concave in the gap....
Went up to the grove today and looks like they are almost finished, they were watering the grass and finishing of the drainage.
I have to say it looks great
