Guys & Gals,
Just want to point out a disturbing increase.

On sunday while riding an up and back on the Oaks, I had a mechanical the meant I was walking the last half of the single track, I punched through onto the Fire trail now what I noticed was an incredible amount of Gel wrappers, I picked up six (6) in about 2 ks.

What frustrates me about this is 1. the laziness and disrespect of someone dropping the wrappers, and 2. who needs to use them over this distance, we regularly ride up & back and find the only this we need is fresh cool water, the average age of our group is 48.

So if you think you need to use a GEL please take the wrapper with you.

Well said!

For those that don't get it... everything you do while riding your bike, or driving around with a bike on your car/ute/etc, or standing at the pie shop with your bike reflects on the mountain bike community. Every little mishap, or incident, or in this case, gel wrapper found on a well used MTB trail reflects poorly on the community. And we have seen recently what this can lead too Sad

Well said as well Rob. Smiling

It is just simple courtesy really. If you don't dump and leave gel wrappers on your floor at home, why dump and leave it in a national park? Just totally astounding behaviour from cyclists, who should know better than most. And I can't even pin this one on the roadies either. Sticking out tongue

... you wouldn't like someone leaving their discards in your backyard, so don't do it to others. Treat others with the respect that you expect to receive.

What is so hard about sticking the gel wrapper back in your jersey pocket?

Same goes for dead tubes - put 'em back in your bag and recycle them later as chainstay protectors.

It's not rocket science.

Gel wrappers give me the shits. If you are to tired to put it back in your pocket you should be at home on the couch watching biggest loser or something.

After a race I half expect the packets but still can't see the litter justified, on a social trail it is just not on
